Senior Remediation Systems Implementation Specialist

The Environmental Remediation Group was created in 2006 with an ethos to design and implement meaningful remediation solutions by offering our clients the best possible approaches using the best suited technologies, implemented by a team that works to earn our clients trust every single day.

Our goal is to develop and implement sustainable, cost effective, and reliable approaches to contaminated site remediation using both proven and cutting edge technologies through creative remediation strategies.

The Group and its core team members have industry leading experience in the design, construction, and implementation of in-situ and ex-situ thermal remediation, using Electrical Resistance Heating (ERH), electric and combustion based Thermal Conduction Heating (TCH), and Steam Enhanced Extraction (SEE) technologies. Our team of thermal remediation experts have collectively designed, built, and operated over 90 different thermal remediation projects. Starting with the very first commercial projects in the 1990's, our team has been the heartbeat of the thermal remediation industry for over 28-years, designing and implementing some of the most advanced thermal projects ever endeavored.

With hundreds of successful projects completed over the past two decades, The Group also offers expertise and equipment for turnkey remediation solutions, including: Thermal Remediation (In Situ and Ex Situ), Bioremediation , Closed-loop Groundwater Recirculation, Air Movement Technologies (SVE, MPE, and AS), and Combined Remediation approaches.


Position Summary:

  

The Environmental Remediation Group (ERG) is currently seeking a talented, motivated, and experienced Senior Remediation Systems Implementation Specialist to join our Environmental Remediation Construction and Implementation team in the greater Southern, CA area. The Senior Remediation Systems Implementation Specialist position is a critical role with rapid growth and career development opportunities within a fast growing organization. This is a skilled supervisory and management position in the construction, operation and closure of ERG’s remediation projects, and as a leadership role, reports directly to ERG’s Vice President of Field Operations. The open position is for a full-time, hybrid work location model, and ERG is looking for self-driven applicants with the ability to work from a home office location, commute to our facilities and Sites within in the greater Southern CA area up to 35% of the time, and travel to various project sites throughout the US and internationally up to 50% of the time, with up to four weeks travel at a time. 

We are seeking an experienced environmental remediation professional with a documented history and expertise in the design, construction, operations, and optimization of complex remediation systems, with subject matter expertise in thermal remediation technology. This position works within both the Engineering and Field Services organizations of ERG, and serves a critical role in bridging the engineering and highly technical aspects of our technologies and projects with real world construction and implementation knowledge and experience that will make our systems work in the dynamic and complex conditions inherent to the real world remediation project implementation.

Tinkerers, outside-the-box thinkers, and people who have an innate ability to bridge the highly technical and theoretic basis of remediation system design with practical construction and implementation techniques and strategies are highly encouraged to apply. We are looking for a well rounded and highly qualified individual that is able to perform a wide range of job functions across numerous fields of expertise, including electrical and mechanical design and construction; fabrication and manufacturing of custom equipment; electrical, instrumentation, automations, and programming; field construction management and supervision; project management, vendor and subcontractor management, remediation system operations oversight and management, remediation systems O&M, remediation technology research and development, field health and safety implementation, and so much more.


Position Responsibilities


Electrical and Mechanical Expertise

  • Solid hands-on mechanical skills, including piping, pumps, blowers
  • Advanced  electrical and instrumentation skills to build, repair and maintain various process equipment components in our shop
  • Fabricate and/or repair piping components, skids, and custom process equipment
  • Experience  with MIG and TIG welding preferred
  • Develop layout and material take-offs from sketches
  • Ability to set-up, organize and prioritize shop & projects autonomously
  • Ability to manage fabrication, manufacturing, field construction, and operational budgets and timelines
  • Field management of multi-disciplinary remediation site construction projects with site and project management responsibility

Remediation Construction Site Supervisor

  • Field      management of multi-disciplinary remediation site construction projects      with site and project management responsibility
  • Field management of multi-disciplinary remediation site construction projects with site and project management responsibility
  • Manage (and participate) in site construction, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Enforce compliance with all health and safety plans, and company policies and  programs
  • Maintain knowledge of new regulatory and technical developments related to thermal remediation and advanced in situ remediation technologies
  • Supervise and train on-site staff personnel, along with subcontractors during construction and operations of remediation systems.

Additional Duties

  • Research  and Development – participate in technology development driven initiatives such as R&D, prototype design, fabrication, operations and testing, and support task leaders with fabrication, construction, operations, and data acquisition support.
  • Ability to work from a home office location, commute to our shop/facilities and project Sites in the Southern California Area up to 35% of the time, and travel to various project sites throughout the US and internationally up to 50% of the time, with up to four weeks travel at a time. 

Required Qualifications:

  • A  minimum of 8-years of experience implementing thermal remediation technologies,
  • A  minimum of 15 years of experience with large-scale construction projects including a minimum of 10-years experience with in-situ remediation systems
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of complex vapor and liquid treatment equipment
  • A  minimum of 5 years of field management experience of large scale engineering or construction projects, operation and maintenance of in-situ      thermal remediation systems and treatment equipment
  • OSHA 40  hours Health and Safety training, 8-hour refresher training, 8-hour supervisor training

Preferred Qualifications::

  • CA Certified Electrician License is strongly preferred
  • Journeyman Trade License, Trade School Certificate or Associates Degree preferred, but not required
  • Experience with programmable logic controls (PLC), systems automation, Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems.
  • Excellent  computer and technology skills with experience using MS Projects
  • Must  pass required pre-employment and annual medical surveillance physical examination for clearance to work on hazardous waste sites
  • Ability to periodically perform physical exertions including medium weight  lifting, pushing, pulling, stair or ladder climbing, and other      construction/maintenance activities for up to 12 hour shifts


In accordance with California State law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $80,500 - $97,500, annually. . Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
